The September 17, 2006, Rally in NYC

Save Darfur Now: Voices to Stop Genocide was a national rally organized by the Save Darfur Coalition, an alliance of more than 170 faith-based, humanitarian and human rights organizations.  We called on world leaders to deploy a United Nations force into Darfur to end the genocide.

The Massachusetts Coalition to Save Darfur sent 11 full buses to carry 565 people to take part in the rally in the East Meadow of Central Park in New York City.  Overall, Massachusetts sent about 600 people to the rally.  Press reports of the crowd ranged from 10,000 to 20,000 people.
