On Tuesday, March 13th at 7:30 PM, First Parish in Lexington will present the annual Elizabeth Howe Lecture on the genocide in Darfur.
The featured speaker is Dr. Charlie Clements, President of the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee. Dr. Clements is a highly regarded human rights activist and has visited refugee camps in Chad and Darfur.
The lecture, "Ordinary Heroes: From the Holocaust to Darfur," will look at the current crisis through the lens of two individuals from suburban Boston who rescued thousands fleeing Nazi persecution in the 1940s. Their heroic story inspires us to take action to end genocide in Darfur. Please join us to learn how you can make a difference.
First Parish is located at 7 Harrington Road and is adjacent to the Lexington Town Green. The event is free and open to the public. A reception will follow. Parking is available and First Parish is wheelchair accessible. Further information can be found at www.fplex.org or
