Temple Shalom in Newton sponsors
"What Can We Do: Darfur & The Jewish Community"
Wednesday
evening, March 28
Temple Shalom is delighted to present Rabbi Or N. Rose,
Associate Dean and Director of Informal Education at The Rabbinical School of
Hebrew College, on Wednesday, March 28 at 7PM. A frequent speaker on
Darfur at synagogues and community centers throughout the country, Rabbi Rose
will discuss "What Can We Do: Darfur & the Jewish Community."
Rabbi Rose will be joined by Panther Alier, one of the
"Lost Boys of Sudan," a heroic group of young men that escaped the
brutality of the Sudanese government in an earlier era of killings, rape and
torture. Mr. Alier has been an outspoken activist for the end of
bloodshed in all parts of Sudan, including, most recently, Darfur.
The
event will be held at Temple Shalom, 173 Temple Street, West Newton, and is
open to the public. For more information, contact Temple Shalom at
617.332.9550 or visit www.templeshalom.org. The program is sponsored by
the Temple Shalom Cares: Save Darfur committee.
